Tester of protective grounding straps WS tester

Wrist strap tester is a checking device designed for testing protective grounding straps utilised at antistatic workplaces in dedicated room according to EN 61 340-5-1 standard. Mentioned standard specifies daily check of these wrist straps competency. Resistance of fitted wrist straps is specified in the standard within the range of > 7.5×10⁵ Ω up to < 3.5×10⁷ Ω.

The wrist strap tester input is set for these limits. Indication of measured value is optical and acoustical. The device indicates correct resistance value of the wrist strap by green indicator and sounding siren.

Faulty values including deviation direction HIGH or LOW determination are indicated by red indicators. Battery discharge condition is indicated by yellow indicator.

The device is calibrated by a “Gauge for Wrist strap tester” or another appropriate instrument.

Wrist strap tester is situated in a plastic box. Input socket and alternative connecting piece for checked wrist straps are situated on the instrument top panel. Evaluating indicators of the test and battery condition are also on the top panel. Contact pushbutton from stainless steel is located in the centre of the top panel.
